Some people will try to compare the cannabis industry to others, when in reality, this industry is so unique that it's truly hard to compare it to anything else.
It's still very new and so much is being learned and discovered daily.
To say it's just the beginning is an understatement and we are in desperate need of self-reflection.
When I first began consuming cannabis I quickly learned that this plant was not only magical but mentally healing. It induced much self-reflection, transmutation, and inner understanding that I hadn't ever really felt before.
In a way, cannabis brought me back home to my child within and helped me tear down the walls of my trauma to begin to rewire my thought patterns, gain more empathy and overall ease my mind, body, and soul.
When I began my journey in cannabis as a budtender at Goldn Bloom SD (my absolute favorite shop and forever family), I gained an immense amount of valuable knowledge about the plant in the 2 years I was there.
Budtenders are truly the nurses of this industry and although some are just in it for the free product and discounts, most are in it for the plant & to help make a difference in people's lives.
Once I entered the wholesale side of the industry I began to see the extreme greed and separateness it all entailed. I quickly realized how broke and broken the industry was and is despite the facade it tries to portray to society.
There are many people in it purely to take from the plant and capitalize as much as possible off of it with no intention of caring for, or preserving it.
There needs to be more unity and less separateness.
More preservation and patience for the plant and less rushing of nature.
Most brands that are cultivating are rushing the process, curing in the jars or bags, when they should be curing it properly to ensure freshness and maximum performance from each strain on a medicinal level.
Brands, for too long, have also been misinforming people intentionally on the quality of their products. For example, labeling strains after names that have nothing to do with the genetics but purely to manipulate the consumer, claiming to be solvent-less concentrate when really, they are using minimal amounts of distillate for emulsification, manipulating test results, spraying the plant with pesticides, and so much more.
This industry needs to reevaluate the lack of preservation of this healing herb and learn to respect the plant again.
Although supply in demand will always be difficult to keep up with, there's always a way to respond righteously and with dignity.
I have been predicting for some time that the plant would begin to speak for itself and rid this industry of the people and brands that are fucking over the consumer, the people working for them and THE PLANT.
Over the past two years we have begun to see it all crumble and we are now ready for a re-birth.
It's time for the industry to heal itself, so that we can heal the people again.
We must place the right people in power that will nurture this plant that so generously nurtures us. The darkness will always be exposed and the light will always prevail.
To the people in this industry purely here for profit and greed, your days are numbered.
It's time to ensure that we're giving back to the plant and that the righteous pioneers and OG's of the industry who preserve and respect this God given plant always rise to the top as leaders of this movement.
Get ready for the shift, and if you work in this industry, ask yourself "how are you contributing to the plant and the people? your buyers? your consumers? your company that pays you? are you only taking? are you only profiting?"
This plant was meant to be shared and there is more than enough room for the righteous to eat.
May the plant be blessed, protected & preserved, and may every bad apple in this industry get what they deserve.
