Channeling: Will Cannabis help you run the extra mile?

Although cannabis isn't considered to be a sports enhancer, many people would agree that it is highly beneficial when combined with fitness.

A study this year, by the University of Colorado Boulder, found that there was a significant correlation to cannabis consumption and the motivation/enjoyment of working out.

The conclusion of the study was that people were more likely to be motivated for their workout and felt that it was an overall more pleasant experience when paired with CBD or THC.

In fact, the people who consumed CBD over THC experienced even more of an upliftment in their overall mood.

Some believe that due to cannabis' anti-inflammatory properties, it can possibly relieve tension and pain in the body enabling a better workout overall.

There was also a study back in 2003, where they found that part of the "runners high" experience comes from an increase in the blood levels of the endocannabinoid molecule, Anandamide.

This goes to show that we may be able to further enhance the "runners high" experience through consuming cannabis prior to physical activity.

Another factor I've always considered while working out with cannabis, is the ability it has to adjust our perspective and mind-state.

I truly believe it enables me to have an almost out of body experience where I'm able to really get into a rhythm and flow state during my workouts.

Personally, I've always preferred to consume cannabis before every workout and have seen nothing but benefits from it.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend smoking as your form of consumption before a workout for obvious reasons, but I'd suggest an edible micro-dose that works for you, or some CBD drops if you want to avoid the psychoactive aspect.

The psychoactive effects might not be for everyone, but don't totally count out a little CBD to loosen up the muscles and tension in the body for a more enjoyable workout. Lastly, keep in mind how your body typically reacts to cannabis. If you feel that it impairs your ability in any way to keep yourself safe, then please don't self-experiment with this.

Most people have no problem functioning safely with cannabis in their system, but please be sure to listen to your body always.

Nothing hits better than a workout after a good smoke session. The mind to muscle connection is always so much easier when high! Lol great post!
